I swam in the rooftop pool while looking at whales in the Pacific Ocean. I borrowed a SUP board from the front desk to reach nearby beaches. My Ocean View Suite had a balcony where I watched the waves. Breakfast at Roca Negra started with a fruit plate and yogurt, followed by a main plate.

My casita featured a spacious layout and an outdoor shower which I used every morning. I enjoyed the afternoon ritual where staff brought buckets of ice and water to the three-tiered pools.

Rooftop kitchen with ocean views

I prepared meals in the fully equipped rooftop kitchen while I watched the ocean from the tables. I used the binoculars placed on the bookshelves there to look at the coast. My room had a kitchenette with a mini fridge and a coffee maker, which I used for my morning coffee. I relaxed on the sun loungers by the clean pool after my walks to the beach.

Private pool on my suite balcony

I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite with a large balcony and a private plunge pool. I listened to the ocean waves every night from my room. My suite was spacious and modern, and I enjoyed having a personal concierge who assisted with my reservations during my four-night stay. I ate breakfast at Árbol, where I had handmade tortillas and fresh fruit from the buffet each morning.

An hour of hydrotherapy at AWAY spa

I received an hour in the outdoor jungle-jacuzzi after I finished my spa treatment. I spent my afternoon in the adults-only pool, which stayed open twenty-four hours a day. Lush trees surrounded my room and the grounds, where I often used the electric carts to travel between the beach and the jungle.

I watched the sunset from the rooftop bar while swimming in the infinity pool. My apartment had large windows looking out at the ocean and a kitchen equipped with a filtered water station. I ate mahi mahi with capers at Hoja Santa, which also sat on the roof.

My butler prepared the in-room jacuzzi upon request, and I kept my room fridge stocked with beverages throughout my five-night stay. Late pizza at the disco

I grabbed fresh pizza at the lower disco area between four-thirty and ten each night. I also watched whales breach in the Pacific Ocean directly from my balcony. This resort maintains a comprehensive gym which I used throughout my stay. I enjoyed fish tacos for lunch by the ocean while I sat in the beach lounge chairs.

Watching whales from a private plunge pool

I watched whales breach directly from my plunge pool while sitting on the deck of my oceanfront casita. During my stay, I borrowed bicycles from the hotel to tour the grounds and took part in the sea turtle release on the beach. I ate dinner at Aramara, where the food was excellent, and enjoyed cocktails at The Mez.
